Modern Grind Technology ("MGT," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at moderngrindtech.com and a Discord application used in servers we run or support. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site or interact with that Discord application, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We keep this simple because we have no interest in collecting more than what is necessary to run the site and respond to inquiries.
We collect information in two ways: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically through analytics tooling.
Contact form submissions. When you fill out a contact or inquiry form on this site, we collect your name, email address, and any message content you submit. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This information is stored and processed by our email service provider, Brevo, and is used solely to send you updates and announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email.
Booking data. If you book a discovery call through our scheduling link (powered by Cal.com), the information you provide during booking, including your name, email, and any pre-call notes, is collected and processed by Cal.com. We receive a copy of that information in order to prepare for and conduct the call.
Analytics data. We use two privacy-first analytics tools: Plausible Analytics and Vercel Analytics. Plausible is fully cookieless and open-source. It does not use cookies, fingerprinting, or any method that tracks individual visitors across sessions or sites. Vercel Analytics similarly does not collect personally identifiable information. Data collected by both tools includes page views, referrer information, browser type, and general geographic region, all in aggregate form.
MGT operates a Discord application (the "MGT bot") that server administrators can install into their own Discord servers, including servers we run on behalf of clients. This section describes what that application processes. It applies only to Discord servers where the application has been installed by that server’s administrators.
Account identifiers. We store your Discord user ID, username, and display name. These are needed to attribute your progress, tickets, and permissions to you across sessions.
Server activity. For community engagement features such as levels, streaks, and rewards, we store counters and timestamps: experience points, level, currency balance, streak lengths, total message count, and the time you were last active. These are counts and dates. They do not include the text of your messages.
Message content, in two limited cases. The application reads messages in servers where it is installed in order to run automated moderation and to power interactive features. It does not keep a general log of messages. Message text is stored only when (1) a message is pinned to the server’s starboard because members reacted to it, or (2) a member explicitly saves a message as a quote. In both cases we store the message text, the author’s Discord ID, and the channel and message IDs.
Moderation records. When a moderation action is taken, we store the acting moderator’s ID, the affected member’s ID, the action taken, an optional reason, and a timestamp. Moderation records do not store the text of the message that triggered them.
Support tickets. If you open a support or project ticket, we store the subject, the description you write, the ticket thread ID, your Discord ID, urgency, status, and who closed it. Ticket transcripts are generated on request from the messages in that ticket thread and returned inside Discord.
Roles and membership. The application reads your server roles and membership to run onboarding and verification, to decide whether you may use staff-only or member-only commands, and to grant or remove roles. We do not keep copies of full server member lists.
Online status. In servers that display live member-count channels, the application reads whether members are online or offline to produce those counts. This is used in memory to compute a number. We do not store your online status, your activity, or what you are playing.
League operations. For competitive leagues we operate, the application also stores match, roster, schedule, and result records, and links them to the Discord accounts of participants so that game threads, standings, and results work.
What we do not do. We do not sell or rent this data. We do not use it for advertising, behavioural profiling, or cross-site tracking. We do not use Discord message content to train machine learning or AI models.
Retention and deletion. We keep this data for as long as the application is installed in the server and the record remains relevant to running it. You may request deletion of your Discord data by emailing david@moderngrindtech.com from the address associated with your account, or by contacting an administrator of the server in question. Removing the application from a server, or leaving that server, ends further collection.
Information you submit through a contact form is used only to respond to your inquiry and to follow up on any subsequent conversation. We do not add you to any mailing list, marketing sequence, or third-party database based on a contact form submission.
Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand which pages are most useful, how visitors find the site, and where the experience can be improved. We do not use analytics data to identify individual visitors.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
This site integrates with the following third-party services that may process data on your behalf:
We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to complete the relevant inquiry or project engagement. If you would like your submission deleted, contact us at the address below and we will remove it promptly.
Newsletter subscriber email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Unsubscribing removes your address from all future mailings immediately.
Aggregated analytics data does not contain personal information and may be retained indefinitely for site improvement purposes.
You have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us directly at the email address below.
Because we collect minimal personal data and do not maintain marketing lists, most requests can be fulfilled immediately.
This site does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. Plausible Analytics is entirely cookieless by design. No consent banner is needed because no visitor data is stored in the browser. Vercel's infrastructure may set functional cookies strictly necessary to serve the site, but these are not used for tracking. Third-party services linked from this site (such as Cal.com) operate under their own cookie policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
